About the role and about you
As the Specialist, Building Compliance and Essential Services, you will take ownership of SGCH's building compliance and planned maintenance programs, ensuring statutory obligations, essential fire safety measures, and critical assets are effectively managed across the portfolio. Working closely with contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, you'll oversee contract performance, manage compliance risks, conduct audits and inspections, and deliver expert advice that supports safe, compliant, and well-maintained homes for our customers. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the organisation.
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong experience in building compliance, fire safety and contractor management with the ability to manage risk, engage stakeholders and deliver compliance outcomes.
This is a permanent, full time role based at our Redfern office and requires travel to other SGCH office locations as required. This role reports to the Compliance and Fire Safety Manager.
Duties
- Lead building compliance and essential services programs.
- Manage contractor performance, KPIs and service delivery.
- Conduct compliance audits, inspections and reviews.
- Ensure statutory and fire safety obligations are met.
- Oversee essential fire safety measures and critical assets.
- Monitor budgets, invoices and contract expenditure.
- Identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks.
- Maintain accurate compliance, asset and reporting records.
- Manage regulatory matters and NCAT access applications.
- Provide specialist compliance and fire safety advice.
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Build strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
