Job Description

 About the role and about you 

The Head of Finance Transformation will lead a critical uplift of our finance systems, reporting capability, and operating model. This role will drive the transition from manual, fragmented reporting to automated, scalable, and insight-driven decision-making, delivering a future-focused finance function that supports organisational performance and community outcomes. Working closely with Finance, Data and Technology leaders, you will play a key role in ensuring our systems and data foundations enable better decisions, stronger governance, and sustainable outcomes across the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will have you are a strategic and delivery-focused leader with strong experience in finance transformation, systems, and data-driven decision-making.

This is a permanent role, hyrbid rolel, based at our Redfern office (up to 3 days per week) and requires travel to other SGCH office locations as required. 

Duties  

  •  

  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation of finance reporting and planning capability. This includes developing business cases and driving future-state finance systems changes, including reporting and operating model redesign

  • Deliver trusted, auditable, and scalable reporting frameworks,  reducing manual and bespoke reporting through improved data capability

  • Design and embed automated finance processes and controls, and partner with Finance teams to strengthen planning, forecasting, and performance reporting

  • Lead and develop a specialist transformation team and influence senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology, and the business.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, information systems or related fields, with membership of CAANZ, CPA Australia or similar bodies.
  • Extensive experience delivering end-to-end finance transformations, including systems implementation, budgeting and forecasting platforms, performance reporting and data standardisation in complex organisations. 

  • Strong understanding of finance operating models, program and portfolio financial management, and how finance systems and enterprise data enable decision-making.

  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, influence senior stakeholders, communicate complex concepts clearly, and align commercial discipline with purpose, resilience and continuous improvement.
